Today we celebrated the upcoming Royal Wedding by spending our day immersing ourselves in lots of lovely activities such as hat making and factfile writing. We had great fun designing our hats and are sure that we will look fit to attend a wedding!
Our learning in Maths this week has centred around time and solving 2 step problems. We haved consolidated our understanding of the column addition and subtraction and we are now far more confident using it. We are continuing to practice our times tables and are using them to support our mental calculations.
In Literacy, we have been planning the changes to our pirate story and have completed our own version. We are concentrating heavily on spelling this term and making sure that we are using all of our strategies to help us spell tricky words. You can help us at home by encouraging us to use our 'Fred Fingers' and helping us to spot where we have gone wrong.
In PE, we had a go at passing a ball and scoring goals using hockey sticks. We played 'Stuck in the Mud' to warm us up and concentrated on how to dodge being caught and how to release someone quickly. I am pleased to say that the children have taken what they have learnt about this game in to playtimes and lunchtimes. They have been having great fun!
We will resume our SATs testing on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. We will be completing the maths papers which consist of an arithmetic paper and a reasoning paper. Please support your child by practising addition, subtraction, division and multiplication questions.
Please ensure that your child is in school, on time and ready to learn.
